"Who Pays, Plays the Whistle"

One day, the Hodja set off to go to the market. Soon, a group of children blocked his way.

“Hodja, please buy us a whistle from the market!” they shouted.

One of the children pulled out some money from his pocket and handed it to the Hodja.

On his way back, the same group of children gathered around him.

The Hodja turned to the boy who had given him money and handed him a whistle.

As he was about to leave, the other children started shouting:

“Hey, what about me? Where’s mine?”

The Hodja simply replied:

“Who pays, plays the whistle.”
