                                                            Throwing Yeast into the Lake

One day, Nasrettin Hoca took a bucket of yogurt starter and set off toward the lake.
The villagers who were picnicking around the lake watched him with curiosity.
Nasrettin Hoca began to spoon the yogurt starter into the lake.
While the villagers were watching in amazement, one of them approached Hoca and asked:
— "What are you doing, Hoca?"
— "I'm trying to ferment the lake into yogurt," he replied.
— "Oh dear Hoca," said the villager, "do you really think the whole lake can turn into yogurt just by adding a starter?"
Nasrettin Hoca, with his usual wit, responded:
— "Well, what if it does?"

With this action, Nasrettin Hoca wanted to teach a lesson to those in his society who chased after impossible dreams and engaged in pointless efforts.
