The Story of the Golden-Haired Girl

Once upon a time, long, long ago, there was a young girl named Başak who lived with her mother in a white house in the middle of a beautiful garden. Başak had shiny golden hair, and every morning, she would comb it for hours with a special comb from her grandmother.

She carefully collected the hair that fell out and saved it in a little handkerchief.
The garden around their house was full of colorful flowers that smelled wonderful. Başak’s mother loved the flowers very much. She watered them every day and spoke kind words to them. When the flowers were cared for, they stood tall and bright, but if they were forgotten, they quickly drooped and looked sad.

At night, Başak’s mother would gently place one strand of Başak’s golden hair on a flower. The next morning, the flower would magically give them a gold coin! This was a special secret just between Başak and her mother. Thanks to the flowers, they lived happily without needing help from anyone.

One day, an old woman hiding nearby saw Başak’s mother collect a gold coin from a flower. She was shocked and thought,
"Maybe I can get some gold too!"

She quickly made a plan. She put on dirty old clothes and went to their house. When Başak’s mother opened the door, the woman fell to the ground and said,
"Please help me! I have nowhere to go."

Başak and her mother felt sorry for her and welcomed her into their home. They gave her water, food, and a warm bed. The woman pretended to be very thankful and stayed with them.

But she had a bad plan. Every day, when no one was looking, she combed Başak’s hair and secretly kept the fallen strands. At night, she placed the hair on the flowers and took the gold for herself.

After a while, the woman became greedy. She didn’t want to wait anymore.
One night, while Başak was sleeping, she took a pair of scissors and cut off all of Başak’s beautiful hair!

But something magical happened: the hair turned into snakes and attacked the woman!
Başak woke up just in time and shouted, "Stop!"
The snakes listened and stopped, but the woman was so scared she couldn’t speak. She ran around, screaming in fear.

Many days passed. One day, while the woman was sitting sadly on the street, an old man came by. He looked at her kindly and said:
"Long ago, a blacksmith lived here. He saw the flowers give gold, just like you did. But instead of stealing, he left everything behind and became a wise man. Today, he is the King's right-hand helper. If he had been greedy, he would have ended up sad and lost, just like you."

Hearing this, the woman started crying and pulling her hair. She was punished for her greed and lies.

Meanwhile, Başak’s golden hair grew back even more beautiful than before.
Başak and her mother lived happily in their lovely white house with their magical garden for many, many years.

And they lived happily ever after.
Three apples fell from the sky: one for the storyteller, one for the reader, and one for all who listened!
