Kindness Cat
In a small seaside town, there lived a cat named Empress. With her pure white fur, graceful posture, and intelligent gaze, she had won the love of the townspeople. However, Empress’s most special trait was that she could understand people’s troubles and comfort them.
Hasan Dede, the town’s elderly fisherman, was used to being seen off by Empress every morning as he went to his boat. One day, Hasan Dede received some bad news. He didn’t have enough money to repair his boat, which had been damaged in a storm, and he wouldn’t be able to go fishing anymore. Feeling sad and helpless as he walked home, Empress came to him. As the old man stroked her, he felt a little comforted, but he still didn’t know how to solve his problem.
The next morning, the town’s children were following Empress anxiously. The cat was walking quickly towards the center of the town, stopping occasionally to meow at people. Curious shopkeepers, fishermen, and townspeople followed her. She led them to Hasan Dede’s ruined boat and stopped right in front of it.
Everyone looked at each other. At that moment, they realized that Empress’s strange behavior had a purpose. The townspeople talked among themselves and made a decision: everyone would do their part to repair Hasan Dede’s boat. Some brought planks of wood, some brought paint, and the young people hammered in nails. After days of hard work, the boat was as good as new.
Hasan Dede, with tears in his eyes, looked at Empress. “If it weren’t for you, I would still be hopeless,” he said. Empress jumped into his lap and allowed him to pet her head.
